Kenya Power is one of the best paying government parastatals. You can join the graduate trainee position which takes up to 2 years in training. During training, the salary paid to graduate trainees is Ksh 60,000 to Ksh 80,000. After the training, they are paid Ksh 120,000 to Ksh 140,000 per month as the starting salary.
For the first 3 years, your salary will be ranging between Ksh 130,000 and Ksh 180,000 monthly. After 3 years, you will earn over Ksh 200,000 monthly.
Apart from the basic salary paid to you, Kenya Power will also be paying allowances and per diem. There are many field assignments which pay per diem. Kenya Power pays Ksh 5,000 to Ksh 12,000 per day based on location.
To qualify for a position as a Graduate Trainee position, you MUST possess undergraduate degree and pass with at least Second Class Upper. You should also be aged below 28 years. Kenya Power prefers graduates with Engineering qualifications.
