23rd December 2024 – (Hong Kong) The Mark Six lottery has seen no first prize winners in its last five draws, resulting in a jackpot accumulation of HK$33.81 million. The Hong Kong Jockey Club estimates that the next draw, scheduled for Christmas Eve on 24th December, could see a lucky ticket holder claim a windfall of up to HK$42 million with a standard HK$10 bet.
The absence of winners has raised eyebrows, as even the second prize has gone unclaimed for two consecutive draws. In the last five draws, there were only partial winnings, with each draw yielding between one and two second prize winners, which is unusually low for the lottery.
The recent draws have produced some striking results. Last Thursday, 19th December, the draw included a rare “three consecutive numbers” outcome with the numbers 1, 2, and 3. The following Saturday, 21st December, coinciding with the winter solstice, saw an even rarer “four consecutive numbers” drawn—20, 21, 22, and 23.
Since the last major win on 10th December, when two tickets shared nearly HK$40 million, the draws from 12th December to 21st December have not yielded any first prizes. Notably, 14th December saw no winners even for the second prize, with only 53 tickets winning the third prize. In other draws, there were only one to two winners for the second prize, with the third prize ranging from 83 to 125 winners.
The recent draws have featured unusual number patterns, with the last two draws producing only a single second prize winner each, each worth over HK$2 million. While double consecutive numbers are not uncommon, the appearance of three and four consecutive numbers is a rarity, contributing to the growing intrigue surrounding the upcoming draw.
