25th December 2024 – (Washington) Former U.S. President Bill Clinton was discharged from a Washington, D.C. hospital on Tuesday following treatment for the flu, according to his Deputy Chief of Staff and spokesperson, Angel Urena.
“President Clinton was discharged earlier today after being treated for the flu,” Urena confirmed via a post on the social media platform X.
Clinton, 78, was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center on Monday afternoon for testing and observation after experiencing a fever. This recent health scare adds to a history of medical issues that the former president has faced since leaving office.
Notably, in 2004, Clinton underwent quadruple bypass surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and he had another heart procedure there in 2010. In 2021, he was hospitalised at UCLA Medical Center for six days due to a urological infection.
Clinton served as the 42nd president of the United States from 1993 to 2001, a period marked by significant economic growth and a budget surplus, though it was also marred by personal scandals, including the infamous Monica Lewinsky affair.
