26th December 2024 – (Hong Kong) The T.momo Shopping Mall, recently made its grand entrance onto Hong Kong Island, marking its first establishment on the island.
On Christmas Day, customers streamed in with the store packed to the brim. Customers left the store laden with purchases, with some likening the experience to being at the heart of the bustling T.momo headquarters in Sham Shui Po. Couples were seen spending around HK$100, praising the store for offering “exciting and unique” items not commonly found elsewhere. Additionally, customers highlighted three key advantages of T.momo over Taobao, with one customer particularly impressed by the quality and affordability of socks priced at HK$12s for three pairs, perfect for disposable use during travel.
T.momo Shopping Mall, which opened its doors in 2022 during the pandemic and quickly expanded across various districts, had yet to venture into Hong Kong Island until the recent opening in North Point. This marked the brand’s 11th store, attracting a considerable number of eager residents eagerly awaiting the grand opening.
The store’s offerings were diverse, ranging from household products, hardware, canned goods, electrical appliances, and electronics. While the store’s footprint was smaller compared to its Sham Shui Po counterpart, it resembled a small supermarket, with many items priced at remarkably low rates, such as a two-tier shaving razor set with 20 blades priced at a mere 2 Hong Kong dollars, while a superglue and screwdriver set selling for only HK$5, making it potentially cheaper than Taobao.
Residents were seen appreciating the convenience and affordability of T.momo, with one individual highlighting the store’s value proposition. Regular customers, including a couple who often travelled to the Sham Shui Po store, commended the store for its unique offerings, with the wife particularly impressed by a multipurpose fork-spoon bottle opener not commonly found elsewhere. The husband, on the other hand, expressed his admiration for the store’s affordable winter wear, noting the significant cost savings compared to purchases from other companies.
