14.15 Lindum York Handicap

This is highly competitive, as the numbers indicate. However, COPPER KNIGHT is a seven-time C&D winner and returned to form with a neck second at Chester last week. He must be thereabouts, if in similar form. KORKER finished an unlucky second in this race twelve months ago and is back for more, while the speedy LOOKING FOR LYNDA and talented but equally frustrating ARECIBO are others to shortlist.

Tips: Copper Knight, Korker, Looking For Lynda, Arecibo

14.45 Oakmere Homes Hambleton Handicap

MASTER RICHARD was pulled out of the Thirsk Hunt Cup, presumably in favour of this race. He was well beaten in this race last year, but he’s better than that and should fare a lot better this time around. SYMBOL OF LIGHT is completely unexposed on the turf and looks well-treated based on his all-weather form. LA TRINIDAD and BOPEDRO could also figure at big prices.

Tips: Master Richard, Symbol Of Light, La Trinidad, Bopedro

15.15 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Middleton Fillies’ Stakes (Fillies’ and Mares’ Group 2)

Last year’s winner FREE WIND comes out very well at the weights. Her second in the Yorkshire Oaks is among the best pieces of form, and she goes well fresh, so there’s plenty to like about her chances. SAPPHIRE SEAS is unbeaten in two starts on the turf and ran well to finish second in a Group 2 race in Meydan last time out. She must enter calculations for the boys in blue.

Tips: Free Wind, Sapphire Seas

15.45 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Dante Stakes (Group 2)

The feature race can go to ANCIENT WISDOM for Charlie Appleby and William Buick. She was magically behind Al Musmak when third at Ascot, but I’m confident he can turn the form around, and he’s won his other four starts. He was impressive in winning his Group 1 race at Doncaster last time out, and all of his form is working out really well. The class act is fancied to relish the step up in distance by making a sparkling winning return.

Tips: Ancient Wisdom

16.15 British Stallion Studs EBF Westow Stakes (Listed)

BIG EVS won four of his six starts last year and completed his year with a victory in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint at Santa Anita. He ran poorly in the Nunthorpe over C&D last year, but he’s a better horse now and can make amends on his seasonal reappearance. He could be set for another big year.

Tips: Big Evs

16.45 Frank Whittle Partnership ebfstallions.com Novice Stakes

There is not a lot of form to go on here, so plenty of guesswork is involved. ANDESITE is related to several winners, including Dramatised, and could be ready to make an impact. SEATTLE was an expensive yearling and is interesting on debut for the Irish raiders. YAH MO BE THERE has attracted plenty of support in the last 24 hours and is another to consider.

Tips: Andesite, Seattle, Yah Mo Be There
