3rd January 2025 – (Hong Kong) A murder unfolded at Po Tin Estate in Tuen Mun on the evening of 2nd January, where a 33-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the back. Reports suggest the victim, who had a history of substance abuse, was attacked after an argument with another man, allegedly related to a woman. The assailant reportedly confronted the victim as he exited Block 7 and repeatedly stabbed him before fleeing the scene.
The incident was reported to the authorities at approximately 10.12pm by a security guard, who indicated that the victim was bleeding from a knife wound. Paramedics arrived to find the man unconscious; he was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital but was pronounced dead at 11.55pm. The case has now been classified as a murder, with the identity of the deceased confirmed as Mr. Wong.
In the course of the investigation, a 44-year-old woman, surnamed Ng, was arrested for allegedly misleading police officers during the inquiry. The case has been handed over to the Tuen Mun District Crime Unit for further investigation, and police are actively searching for the suspect.
Early today, a large contingent of riot police conducted a thorough search of the Po Tin Estate, examining dark corners, rubbish bins, clothing collection boxes, and flowerbeds. During their search, officers discovered various abandoned items, including a coat, which they are reviewing for relevance to the case.
Witnesses reported that the altercation between the two men appeared to stem from a dispute over a woman, leading to the deadly attack that left significant bloodshed at the scene.
As police continue their investigation, they are pursuing leads related to the whereabouts of the assailant and the weapon used in the attack. No arrests have been made regarding the primary suspect, but officers are also scrutinising a bicycle found near the crime scene that may hold vital clues.
