The Chief Executive’s Office has announced a personnel change, with Sheila Wong appointed as the new Assistant Information Coordinator (AIC). Previously serving as the Communications Officer, Wong brings a wealth of experience, having worked in electronic media before joining the police force, where she rose to the rank of Senior Inspector. During her time with the police, she was also involved in producing videos that showcased police services.
This appointment follows the recent hiring of another former police officer, John Tse Chun-chung, who was appointed as the Chief Information Coordinator in May after the position had been vacant for nearly seven years.
The Chief Information Coordinator is responsible for developing media strategies, coordinating public relations, and managing communication schedules related to significant policy initiatives. This role also involves liaising with the media and ensuring effective implementation of information strategies and public relations for major policies. The Assistant Information Coordinator is expected to support the Chief Information Coordinator in these duties.
