6th January 2025 – (Beijing) In a recent press conference, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry called on the United States to halt its use of cybersecurity concerns as a tactic to defame China. Guo Jiakun asserted that China would take all necessary steps to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests in light of recent sanctions imposed by the U.S. Treasury Department on a Beijing-based cybersecurity firm.

The sanctions against Integrity Technology Group were enacted due to allegations of its involvement in multiple hacking incidents targeting US entities. Guo reiterated China’s position on cyberattacks, emphasising that the U.S. should refrain from tarnishing China’s image through unfounded cybersecurity claims.

“Recently, the U.S. has intensified its rhetoric around supposed cyberattacks by Chinese hackers and has resorted to unilateral sanctions against Chinese companies. China firmly opposes these actions and will implement measures to protect its rights,” Guo stated. He also reaffirmed China’s commitment to combating all forms of cyberattacks, adhering to legal protocols.

In a statement released on Sunday, Integrity Technology Group responded to the sanctions, branding them as unilateral and lacking factual support. The company rejected the U.S. accusations and expressed strong opposition to what it deemed illegal and baseless sanctions against it.
