8th January 2025 – (Bangkok) Chinese actor Wang Xing, has resurfaced after a terrifying disappearance at the Thailand-Myanmar border. Previously thought to have been sold into a scam operation in Myawaddy, Myanmar, Wang has now been rescued and, in a moment of remarkable irony, declared that “Thailand is very safe, and I will come back.”
During an interview with Thai media, which some might argue was more of a performance than a genuine exchange, Wang expressed his gratitude to those who facilitated his safe return. “I am incredibly thankful to everyone who helped me stand here today and return to my homeland,” he proclaimed, as if addressing a national audience rather than a beleaguered public still reeling from the implications of his ordeal.
Encouraged by a Thai official standing next to him, Wang reiterated his sentiments in Chinese, paying homage to the Thai government and its leadership. “Thailand is indeed quite safe,” he insisted, as if to reassure those questioning the safety of visiting a country where he had just narrowly escaped a serious situation. “Please don’t worry; I will definitely return if I have the chance. Thank you all!”
