8th January 2025 – (Hong Kong) Sharon Luk, the 44-year-old first runner-up of Miss Hong Kong, has made a remarkable transition from the entertainment industry to the business world after just four years in showbiz. She has successfully established her own lingerie and beauty brand. Previously linked to wealthy businessmen, Luk has firmly denied any allegations of being financially supported by them, emphasising that she remains single. She has openly shared her past struggles, including accumulating over a million dollars in debt for a former partner and contemplating suicide, but has since emerged stronger from these challenges.
In recent years, Luk has been spotted in luxury cars and designer outfits, showcasing her affluent lifestyle alongside her impressive duplex apartment.
Luk credits a pivotal conversation with her father, also a businessman, for reshaping her perspective. In a recent video, she recounted his advice: “If you want to do business, don’t think about the entertainment industry; if you’re considering the entertainment industry, don’t think about doing business. You won’t succeed trying to juggle both.”
Initially, Luk did not grasp this advice, believing that fame in the entertainment sector could enhance her business prospects. However, her father cautioned her, stating that many celebrities who venture into business often fade away within two years because their focus shifts elsewhere. Taking this advice to heart, Luk has since flourished in the beauty and skincare industry. She has been recognised as a formidable businesswoman, receiving the “Outstanding Female Entrepreneur Award” in the Greater Bay Area and being appointed Honorary President of the Hong Kong Beauty Industry Association in 2023.
