Fosa Savings Products

Current/Deposit A/C

Smart Savers A/C

  1. Is a savings product that earns competitive interest.
  2. Withdrawals are limited to once per three months(quarterly).
  3. Has no account maintenance fees.

Fixed deposit Account

  1. Minimum amount of Shs 50,000.
  2. Period -One Month, Three months, Six months, and one year
  3. Negotiable interest rate.

Call Deposit Account

Similar to fixed deposits but the account holder can Withdraw on notice (min 7 days notice)

Cheque Book

An individual account or group holder can request for personalized cheque book from any of our branches

Junior Star Account

An account meant for young kids below the age of 18 years.

  1. Account opening fee of Ksh 500.
  2. Competitive interest rates payable to accounts holding a  minimum balance of Ksh 5000.
  3. Free bank statement every 3 months upon request.
  4. Free standing orders from parents/guardians A/C.

This is a short to medium term loan granted to customers for purchase of capital assets, mainly Motor Vehicles, construction equipment, industrial plant & machinery, agricultural equipment and Land.

Loan Features

  • Financing of up to 85% of the asset or as guided by loan to
    value (LTV) for collaterals.
  • Maximum repayment period is 36 months and 60 months depending on the asset
  •  Minimum Sacco membership is 3 months, active current account & savings.
  • Interest rate is from as low as 13.5% p.a reducing balance

Elimu Loan

This loan is meant for educational advancement. It may be taken out by parents/ guardians to pay for their students or individual members who want to pursue education.

This is a product designed to enable our clients access funding towards:

Mkulima Loan

Do you need to purchase farm inputs such as fertilizers, chemicals, machinery hiring, labor and harvesting costs? All you need is to have made share contributions for a period of six months to qualify!

This loan is for farming purposes.

ACQUIRE SHORT TO MEDIUM LOANS WITH EASE

Salary Check-off Loan

This is mainly for salaried members to cater for their personal needs and developments 

Loan Features

  • Max amount is dependent on 2/3 of the salary
  • Max repayment period is 60 months but cannot exceed retirement
  • Minimum Sacco membership is 3 months’ salary remittance
  • Interest rate is 14% – 16% p.a reducing balance
  • Processing fee is 2.5%, Insurance 0.7% p.a

Salary Advance Loan

This is mainly for salaried members to cater for their personal needs and developments 

Loan Features

  • Minimum Sacco membership is 3 months. Salary credited for a minimum of 3 months.
  • Maximum amount is dependent on 2/3 of the salary.
  • Maximum repayment period is 3 months.
  • Interest rate is 5% p.m. reducing balance.
  • No processing fee, Insurance fee 0.7% p.a.

Loan Purchase Product

This product is for members who wish to trade expensive loans for cheaper loans.

Loan Features

  • Loan being purchased must be performing for a period of not less than 6 months.
  • Maximum repayment period is 72 months.
  • Interest rate as low as 13.5% p.a. reducing balance.
  • Processing fee is 2.5%, insurance 0.7% p.a.
  • Security – Title deed or Log book.

LPO Loan

This product is for members with verifiable LPOs and tenders from trusted clients/firms.

Loan Features

  • Maximum amount is 75% of the LPO.
  • Maximum repayment period is 6 months.
  •  Minimum Sacco membership is 3 months. Active current account for 3 months.
  • Interest rate is 2.5% p.m. on reducing balance.
  • Processing fee is 2.5%, Insurance fee 0.7% p.a.
  • Security – Title deed or Log book.

Medical Loan

This is a loan designed to enable members take care of their emergency medical expenses

Loan Features

  •  Max amount is up to 4 times the savings
  •  Maximum repayment period is 36 months
  •  Minimum Sacco membership is 6 months
  •  Interest rate is 12% -13% p.a reducing balance
  •  Processing fee is 1%, Insurance 0.7% p.a
  • Security – own shares and guarantors

Landlord Loan

The loan allows members who are landlords to carry out construction and renovations (repairs, painting etc) 

Loan Features

  • Maximum amount is 2 million
  • Maximum repayment period is 36 months, loan repayment amount should not exceed 70% of the average 6 months’ rent
  • Minimum Sacco membership is 3 months and rent remittance
  • Interest rate as low as 13.5% p.a. reducing balance
  • Processing fee is 2.5%, Insurance 0.7% p.a.
  • Security – Deed of assignment of rental income or title deed
  • Rent must be channeled through Dimkes

Rent Advance Loan

Loan for landlords’ personal needs and emergencies, land rates and rent

Loan Features

  • Maximum amount is 500,000
  • Maximum repayment period is 3 months, amount should not exceed 50% of rental income.
  • Minimum Sacco membership is 3 months and rent remittance.
  • Interest rate is 16% p.a. reducing balance.
  • Processing fee is 1%, Insurance 0.7% p.a.
  • Collateral – Deed of assignment of rental income.
  • Rent must be channeled through Dimkes.

Chama Loan

Chama loans are designed to enable registered self-help groups, welfare and investment groups to acquire loans for wealth creation of its members

Loan Requirements

  • Group must be registered with the relevant authority
  • Membership of Group shall be at least 10 members
  • Group shall provide minutes authorizing the application of a loan facility which shall be stamped and certified by oversight ministry.
  • At least 2/3 of group members must sign the minutes
  • Group must have saved consistently for a minimum of six months.

Loan Features

  • Maximum amount is 1 million
  • Maximum repayment period is 36 months
  • Minimum Sacco membership is 6 months
  • Interest rate is 15% p.a reducing balance
  • Processing fee is 2%, Insurance 0.7% p.a
  • Collateral – Shares and personal guarantee & indemnity for amount up to 1 million and tangible security (Log book and Title deed) for amount above 1 million.
  • Repayment should not exceed 90% of monthly savings in current and share account.

One needs to visit any of our branches and physically fill in the registration certificate. You need to come along with your original ID, copy of ID, recent colored passport and 500ksh.

One qualifies for a loan on the BOSA side after six months where we shall issue you with a loan which will be times two of your savings then you shall be given two years to repay back with an interest of 1% reducing balance.

Afterwards we shall be giving you loans times 3 of your saving and repayment period will be 3years.
For those operating a deposit account you also can qualify for a loan but your account ought to be active, we shall ask for previous bank statement and security which can be a log book, title deed and one will incurer 1% processing fee and 10%of the 1% excess duty.
