13.50 Betfred Champagne Stakes (Group 2)

Having made an impressive-winning debut over C&D, WOLF OF BADENOCH shaped really well when second in the Vintage Stakes last time out despite still looking raw and should be very difficult to beat given he does set a very high standard. AFTERMATH will take a big step up in grade but should improve from his debut second and could go well, as could the unbeaten BAY CITY ROLLER.

Tips: Wolf Of Badenoch, Aftermath, Bay City Roller

14.25 Betfred Portland (Heritage Handicap)

BORN TO ROCK has been competing in hot company since scoring on debut at Yarmouth and went very close when second over C&D last time out. She looks wildly overpriced, while the consistent APOLLO ONE is another to consider in the hands of Christophe Soumillon. I’ll also add in JM JUNGLE, who won well at York last month and should remain competitive. ALBASHEER and AMERICAN AFFAIR are others to note.

Tips: Born To Rock, Apollo One, Jm Jungle, Albasheer, American Affair

15.00 Betfred Park Stakes (Group 2)

This is a quality renewal. LEAD ARTIST and POET MASTER both won last time out and must be respected with more to come. However, KINROSS won this two years ago and must have a fair chance on these terms.

Tips: Kinross, Lead Artist, Poet Master

15.40 Betfred St Leger Stakes (Group 1) (British Champions Series)

A Group 1 winner at two, the form of SUNWAY’s narrow second in the Irish Derby is a quality piece of form, and having shaped like a stayer when fourth in the King George at Ascot, he’s a massive player over this longer trip. Aidan O’Brien’s ILLINOIS is a model of consistency, though, and has a solid chance, having gone close in the Great Voltigeur last time out.

Tips: Sunway, Illinois

16.15 PJ Towey Construction Handicap

With some pretty useful form in the book, there’s a good chance KING LEAR will be able to build on his latest second at Southwell and potentially go one place better. Royal Hunt Cup-fourth DAYSOFOURLIVES has more to come and is next best ahead of Hollie Doyle’s mount RATHGAR, who is on a handy-low weight.

Tips: King Lear, Daysofourlives, Rathgar

16.50 British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes

SCANDINAVIA finished a very respectable second at Newmarket last month and should make a bold bid to get off the mark at the third time of asking here. Expensive purchase RIDE THE THUNDER should be suited to the step up in trip having done all of his best work at the finish on debut when runner-up and can be added.

Tips: Scandinavia, Ride The Thunder
