CALL TIME couldn’t get to grips with an odds-on favourite at this course eight days ago, but he lost little in defeat and will find this easier. He must go on the shortlist. SMOOTH SILESIE capitalised on the drop in grade when successful at Lingfield last time out, and a 6lb rise shouldn’t be enough to stop her from going well.

DIBBLE DABBLE has been in excellent form this year, winning twice, and should remain competitive. TORONTO RAPTOR ran his best race so far when he finished second at Pontefract last month and has been left on the same mark ahead of this race. He could have a say in the outcome.

A return to winning ways should prove imminent for ORIENTAL SPIRIT based on his latest second at Wolverhampton. The six-year-old should prove hard to beat off an unchanged figure, but don’t rule out REDSHORE CITY. He’s yet to win five starts for this stable, but he must be respected on the back of an eye-catching fourth here last time out.

CHANGE OF FORTUNE has run well in all three previous starts at this course and only found one too good here on his penultimate outing. He should be thereabouts over this shorter trip, while top-weight SPIRIT OF THE BAY will appreciate the drop in grade and is feared most.
