PALACE GREEN remains on the same mark as when an unlucky sixth in the Golden Gates last time out and should go close. The hat trick-seeking MIDNIGHT RUN and Ed Walker’s INTO BATTLE are feared most. APPROVAL and SISYPHEAN cannot be taken lightly either.

14.25 Markel Richmond Stakes (Group 2)
BILLBOARD STAR finished second in a quality Group 2 race last time out, and given that the third-placed horse subsequently bolted up here earlier this week, Eve Johnston Houghton’s charge makes plenty of appeal. THE STRIKIN VIKING also only found one too good last time out and can do best of the remainder.

15.00 John Pearce Racing Gordon Stakes (Group 3)
JAN BRUEGHEL returned a wide-margin winner on his debut at the Curragh before following up in a Group 3 race at the same course. Even under a penalty, he should be hard to beat. ALIGN THE STARS is interesting stepping up in grade after a pair of comfortable handicap wins, while Derby fifth SAYEDATY SADATY can also be shortlisted.

15.35 Qatar Nassau Stakes (Fillies’ And Mares’ Group 1) (British Champions Series)
EMILY UPJOHN has a fantastic record over this trip, reading 1122, and the last time she competed over this trip in the UK, she almost gave 8lb to Paddington in the Coral-Eclipse. She has her ground, and the form of her second to Bluestocking last time was boosted earlier this week. She can stamp her class on this field.

16.10 Jaeger-LeCoultre Nursery
BRIGHTON BOY is improving with each start and returned a very impressive winner at Chester last time out. He should be suited to the step-up in trip based on his finishing effort and can make a serious impact. EL BURHAN has won his last couple of starts and must be respected. Both of these seem to be the two to concentrate on here.

16.45 Buccellati Handicap
UNBREAK MY HEART has form in various Group races and makes her handicap debut off a fair mark of 95. Jim Crowley is reunited with her, and I think the top-weight is a huge player. SHAGRAAN and KENDALL ROY are appealing alternatives given their form this year and can also be included on the ticket.

17.20 Tatler British EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes
DREAMY is related to several winners and represents the powerful Ballydoyle team. She must be included for win purposes. BOUVIER shaped promisingly when third on debut, though, and cannot be ruled out with that experience under her belt. The well-bred GHAIYYA is another to note.
