Below are important details you wish to know about Meru Water and Sewerage Company:

For Individuals

  1. Clear the existing bills on any other existing contracts with MEWASS.
  2. Attach Photocopy of applicant’s ID and KRA PIN . In case of a company attach certified copies of KRA PIN and Certificate of Incorporation.
  3. You will be required to draw the location of your premise.
  4. Attach Copy of Title Deed/Rates Demand Note from Meru County.
  5. Attach copy of ID card and KRA PIN for the landlord (in case of tenant application).

For Companies

  1. 1. Clear the existing bills in the premises.
  2. Attach copy of PIN and Certificate of Incorporation. For signature, rubber stamp or   seal is required.
  3. You will be required to draw location of your premise.
  4. Copy of Title Deed/Rates Demand Note from Meru County.
  5. Attach copy of ID card and KRA PIN for the landlord (in case of tenant application).

Getting Connected

When you request for a water connection to our services, we will connect you within five working days, if:

  1. The main water pipeline is adjacent to your property;
  2. You have paid, or agreed to pay, all applicable connection charges (Deposit and connections material and labour costs), and
  3. You have complied with our terms and conditions of connection.

An applicant shall pay in advance the cost of laying the connection service pipeline based on an estimate for materials and labour costs submitted to him/her by MEWASS before the work commences, provided the actual cost shall be determined on completion of the work then the customer is notified of any over/under charge for payment or debiting/crediting into his/her account

Location of Water meter

The meter shall be located inside your plot one metre from the plot boundary or as MEWASS shall determine in consultation with you.

The safety of the meter and its accessories shall be the responsibility of the customer

How to Check Your Balance

Enable customer to check their balance using account number through the MEWASS Android App

Customers can check their account balance and get their statement by installing Mewass customer app on their Android phones. Follow the steps:

  1. Go to Google Play Store
  2. Search Mewass App
  3. Install App
  4. Open and add your account numbers
  5. Explore statement and balance tabs.

Payment via Mpesa

  1. Go to the M-PESA Menu
  2. Select ‘Pay Bill’
  3. Enter the Business Number: 918350
  4. Enter your bill Account Number
  5. Enter the amount you wish to pay
  6. Key in your M-PESA PIN
  7. Confirm that your entries are correct then press OK

Install Equity Mobile App from Google Play Store

  1. Go to Pay Bill
  2. Select biller.
  3. Go to utilities.
  4. Select Meru Water And
  5. Sewerage Services
  6. Enter Account no.
  7. Enter amount.
