13.55 Style Awards On Ladies Day Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap

MARSH BENHAM proved no match for an odds-on favourite when second last time out, but turned out quickly off the same mark, George Baker’s charge could again go well. LUNA MAGIC is back down to her last winning mark and must be respected under her preferred conditions.

Tips; Marsh Benham, Luna Magic

14.30 Dragon Stakes (Listed)

The standout contender is Archie Watson’s AESTERIUS, who shaped with enormous credit when fifth in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot and should be difficult to beat in these calmer waters. IT AIN’T TWO has won two of her four starts, though, and could capitalise if the favourite underperforms.

Tips: Aesterius, It Ain’t Two

15.05 Davies Group Handicap

Top weight EQUILATERAL is the class act in the field. Charlie Hills’ charge has performed with credit at the highest level on several occasions, particularly in three editions of the King’s Stand Stakes. He can make amends for his unlucky sixth in a Group 3 race at this meeting twelve months ago.

Tips: Equilateral

15.40 Tattersalls 40,000 EBF Novice Stakes (GBB Race)

ANNO DOMINI did well to overcome early carnage when scoring on debut at Newbury and has leading claims. AEGEAN SEA (third) and WINDLORD (fourth) shaped well on their debuts over C&D three weeks ago and must be shortlisted.

Tips: Anno Domini, Aegean Sea, Windlord

16.15 Davies Insurance Solutions Gala Stakes (Listed)

CHECKANDCHALLENGE has plenty of decent form in the book and is more than capable of making his presence felt at this level. PRAGUE bolted up over C&D on debut last month and cannot be ruled out with more to come, while LION’S PRIDE is another to consider having finished third to subsequent Group 1 Dubai Honour at Kempton.

Tips: Checkandchallenge, Prague, Lion’s Pride

16.50 Coral Marathon (Listed) (Registered As The Esher Stakes)

Having bypassed Royal Ascot due to quick ground, it is rather odd seeing TRUESHAN line-up here with conditions similar. However, he remains a high-class stayer and could have this race run to suit with QUICKTHORN in the field. Alan King’s representative must be respected, as should the latter, who may be granted a soft lead. The pair are still rated clear of the remainder and hard to oppose.

Tips: Trueshan, Quickthorn
