Individual membership application

Membership Registration Documents required

1. Complete membership application form and attach:
2. Copy of National Identity card/Passport.
3. Recent Photo.
4. Copy of KRA PIN Certificate.

Joint membership application

To join the Sacco one needs to;

  1. Complete Membership Application Form 
  2. Attach copy of Kenyan National Identity Card or Valid Kenyan Passport for both applicants.
  3. Attach coloured passport size photograph for both applicants.
  4. Copy of KRA PIN Numbers

Group membership application

This includes;Chamas, Self-help Groups etc of atleast 4 members. To join the Sacco one needs to;

1. Complete corporate membership application form and attach:
2. Photocopy of registration certificate.
3. Minutes of the group’s meeting resolving to join Stima Sacco.
4. Constitution of the group.
5. Copies of National identification cards, KRA PIN, and photos of authorized signatories.
6. List of group members.

Corporate membership application

To join the sacco as a corporate, you will need:

1.Complete Corporate Membership application form and attach:
2. Directors’ resolution to open the account.
3. Copy of certificate of incorporation.
4. ID/passport copies, and photos of signatories.
5. Memorandum and Articles of association.
6. Photocopy of KRA Corporate PIN Certificate.

SAVINGS ACCOUNT FEATURES
Fixed Deposit Account • Fixed deposit account is a withdrawable deposit account where depositors can place short term deposits for a specified periods of time usually between three to twelve months.
• The account targets members who wish to put aside funds for investment, and they are certain of the period that they can commit the funds.
• Minimum deposit amount is Kes.5,000.
• Funds can be fixed either for 3, 6 or 12 months.
• Interest is computed daily and credited at the maturity of the contract period subject to a withholding tax of 5%.
• Accrued interest is forfeited if a depositor withdraws the funds before maturity date.
• The customer is issued with a Certificate of Deposit upon depositing the money.
• The Certificate of Deposit details the amount deposited, date deposited, interest rate applicable, contract period and the maturity date.
• Upon maturity the depositor can rollover the principal together with the interest or collect interest and rollover the principal or collect both principal and interest.
Call Deposit Account • Funds can be recalled anytime without losing Interest.
• Guaranteed return on Investment.
• Minimum is Kes 5,000.
Golden Savings Account •This is an investment option account that guarantees a minimum return monthly subject to the amount invested.

This is a mortgage loan product under the Kenya Mortgage Refinance Company (KMRC) refinancing program. The KMRC Mortgage loan will enable Stima Sacco Members to buy a residential house or purchase
land for construction at competitive rates. The mortgage facility is available to
1. Individuals in permanent employment or on contract.
2. Individuals in Business or those who have rental income.

Security for the property is the title for the property being bought or under construction. An additional tangible security may be required where the property is not sufficient to cover the loan.

This is members’ stake/ownership of equity in the Sacco. It is non-withdrawable but transferable upon member’s exit. The investment attracts an average annual return in form of dividends payable. The payback period to recoup the investment is 7 years. • Prime Account enter 801xxxxxxx00, where xxxxxxx
is your Member Number.
• Enter the amount you wish to pay (between Kes10 –
Kes 999,999.00)
Enter the amount you wish to deposit and complete the process.
If successful you will receive an SMS from Pesalink.

  1. Dial *489# and choose the 3rd Option, M-pesa.
  2. Select the second option, M-pesa to SACCO account.
  3. Select the account you wish to deposit funds into i.e., Prime, Shares or Alpha deposits.
  4. Enter the amount you wish to deposit.
  5. Confirm the amount you wish to deposit by pressing 1.
  6. Confirmation to deposit funds is received by M-pawa.
  7. M-pesa will now prompt you to initiate the transaction to deposit funds to Stima Sacco by entering your M-pesa PIN.

  2. Enter M-PAWA pin and answer security question.
  3. Select M-PAWA loans option from the menu. (4)
  4. Select pay loan option. (2).
  5. Select the loan you wish to repay.
  6. Select source of the funds either prime or M-PESA.

  1. When a member delays in payment of the M-Pawa loans, the balance is recovered from their alpha deposits and their status marked as defaulter.
  2. For reinstatement, the member must put back the amount that was recovered from the Alpha Deposits before Member Changes are done to reactivate the account.
  3. If some days had passed after the last due date of payment, then. the system will lock out the member from borrowing until the delayed days are over, to serve as a penalty for late repayment.

The M-Pawa loan limit is ranging from 500 shillings to 120,000 shillings.

Yasar Murabaha Personal Finance Facilities

This will enable our members access facility to purchase tangible items such as: Auto Finance (includes Motor Vehicles Accessories and Spare parts) Plot Finance, Personal Finance for various assets, Stock/ Working Capital Finance, Asset Finance, Building materials, Farm equipment & inputs among other tangible assets. This product is a Diminishing Musharakah based on Shirkat Ul MilkThe percentage of financing shall /is proposed at 80% for new vehicles and 70% for used vehicles not more than seven (7) years old with a repayment period of 48 months and 36 months for new vehicles and used vehicles respectively. For other assets maximum repayment period shall be 60 months. Stima Sacco shall include its mark-up on the facility based on the CBR rate plus a margin of 4.0%.

The Customer through another agent then disposes the Tawarruq Commodity through a commodity exchange platform and the proceeds of sale are credited into the Customer’s account at the Sacco.
