4. Pangani Girls High School
Pangani Girls High School was founded in 1932 as the Duchess of Gloucester School, named after the late Princess Alice, the Duchess of Gloucester. It initially admitted purely Asian students from the Asian families that to this day live in Ngara and Pangani estates in Nairobi.
The school was later renamed to Pangani Girls High School in 1963 after Kenya got its independence, and begun enrolling African students. The school’s impressive academic performance since the 80s saw it elevated to a National School in 2011, and last year it had a mean of 9.56.

6. Loreto High School, Limuru
Loreto High School is a girl’s national school in Karambani, Kiambu County, approximately 28km from the capital city of Kenya, Nairobi. The school was founded in 1936 by the Sisters of Loreto who came from Ireland to Kenya as Catholic missionaries.

9. Kipsigis Girls High School
Kipsigis Girls High School was established in 1955 as an African Girls Boarding School. Located just outside Kericho town, the school was elevated to a secondary school in 1965. 10. Starehe Girls Centre

11. Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls
Initially called Ngandu Mission, Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls was started in 1964 by the late Bishop Caesar Maria Gatimu as Ngandu Girls.
