The faithful at African Inland Church, which is adjacent to Narok County offices in Narok town were forced to worship outside after several padlocks were placed in the place of worship door.

According to the new Bishop Samwel Nyukur , the church was preparing to welcome him and all was set but he says he was shocked to find that a section of the church leadership which is alleged to be opposed to the new developments resorted to locking the church, an incident he condemned.

Narok AIC churches chairman Rev Mulinga Tumwanga said that pastor’s from different parts of the county had travelled to witness the takeover ceremony.

The church leaders had to hire welders to cut off the padlocks to allow the faithful to worship.

The Accused Chairman Solomon Munke who has served for 17 years condemned the incident saying they will find an amicable way to solve the matter and other leadership wrangles which he says have been experienced for some time now.

The incident was reported at Narok police station and police officers were deployed to restore sanity.

The AIC South Region Chairman Reverend Ketere said the event was to usher in the new Bishop in-charge but turned chaotic after the church was locked by unknown disgruntled leaders and also promised to find a solution to the matter.
