A woman by the name Maureen has shocked Kenyans when she claimed that she makes Ksh 20,000 per day from selling Uji Power.She has been in the business for 2 years not and operates from Githurai.
“I am Maureen and currently selling Uji Power in Githurai.My business is booming especially this rainy season, men and women are buying in bulk.I started the business in 2021 June after getting retrenched from a company I was working for in Industrial area. That time, people were mentioning about Uji Power. I ran with the idea and started the business in Githurai.My capital was Ksh 40,000. I had purchased unga and rented a small room for Ksh 6,000. But later I moved to a bigger room and also started delivering to homes.
My first year wasn’t a bad one, I was making Ksh 3,000 to Ksh 7,000 per day. The business grew and by December 2023 I was making up to Ksh 10k per day.
This year I moved to a bigger house and hired two more workers. I also started selling coffee, mandazi and Chapati.The business is booming and from February I have been making Ksh 10,000 to Ksh 20,000 per day. Most of my customers are men who want to gain power and impress their women. Some drink up to 4 cups of Uji Power and they come to my business daily.
I plan to make this business of mine even bigger by adding more drinks and meals. I want it to be a big restaurant and possibly relocate to Nairobi CBD.I won’t regret starting the business.”
