2nd January 2025 – (Hong Kong) At 12.30am today, a woman reported to the police that her ex-husband had threatened and assaulted her current boyfriend at Lei Muk Shue (2) Estate in Tsuen Wan. The police responded to the call, and upon initial investigation, apprehended a 36-year-old man surnamed Tse. He faces charges of criminal intimidation and common assault.
The victim, a 46-year-old man named Wong, suffered injuries to his chest and legs and was promptly transported to Yan Chai Hospital for medical treatment.
The background of the situation reveals a complex family dynamic. Tse, who shares a 12-year-old daughter with his ex-wife, had moved out following the breakdown of their marriage. However, he would occasionally return to visit their daughter. On the day of the incident, he arrived at the residence to find Wong sleeping in his ex-wife’s bed, which led to an emotional confrontation.
According to reports, Tse’s reaction was immediate and intense. He retrieved a kitchen cleaver and slammed it on the table, threatening Wong while shouting, “Do you believe I will kill you?” The confrontation escalated further when Tse pushed Wong in the chest and kicked him in the legs, prompting the ex-wife to call the police.
Upon arrival, officers conducted a preliminary investigation that led to Tse’s arrest.
