29th December 2024 – (Hong Kong) A man in his 40s has tragically died following a shark attack off the Central Queensland coast, as reported by local media on Saturday. The incident occurred near Yeppoon, where the victim suffered severe injuries to his neck while fishing with family members.
The Queensland Police Service confirmed that the attack happened at approximately 4.37pm. Despite immediate medical attention, the man succumbed to his injuries shortly before 6pm.
This incident marks the second shark attack in Central Queensland within the past month. According to the Australian Shark-Incident Database, there have been at least four other shark attacks reported in Australian waters this year.
