According to MTR, the incident occurred on 20th December, when a passenger was found improperly using a child Octopus card. The passenger’s lack of cooperation led staff to involve the police, who subsequently issued a notice for an additional fare charge.
The five-second clip, which shows the bustling environment of MTR Mong Kok Station, features the young man standing with police by a ticket machine, while two MTR staff members oversee the situation.
MTR officials emphasised their commitment to ensuring that all passengers pay the correct fare, stating that staff regularly conduct fare inspections to protect the interests of those who comply with the fare regulations. They urged passengers to cooperate during these checks.
