28th December 2024 – (Hong Kong) The PANDA GO! Hong Kong Drone Show premiered on 28th December at the West Kowloon Cultural District, marking a significant milestone as the first event in Hong Kong to combine drone technology with a fireworks display. A spectacular array of 1,000 drones illuminated the night sky, forming lively panda shapes that interacted with the iconic Victoria Harbour backdrop.
The approximately ten-minute performance showcased seven sequences, three of which integrated pyrotechnic effects alongside the aerial displays. As the drones soared, they created various vibrant panda motifs and spelled out the word “PANDA”, captivating the audience below.
While the innovative display drew praise for its creativity, some attendees expressed a desire for more varied patterns and extended duration. The integration of fireworks added an exciting dimension, although a few spectators noted that the scale was smaller than traditional firework shows.
Despite minor technical issues, including a drone malfunction, the overall reception was positive, with many appreciating the uniqueness of the event and the charm of the panda visuals. The show concluded the first phase of the PANDA GO exhibition, leaving attendees eager for future performances that promise to further explore this cutting-edge fusion of technology and entertainment.
