Kobekyu in Mong kok

6th January 2025 – (Hong Kong) Kobekyu, the renowned Korean curry udon restaurant that has been a fixture in Hong Kong for eight years, is set to close its remaining outlets. The establishment, which first entered the local market in 2017, announced the closure of its Bartlock Centre branch in Causeway Bay last November. Just two months later, on 3rd January, it revealed that its original Mong Kok location would also cease operations on 15th February, the day after Valentine’s Day, signalling the end of its presence in the city.

Kobekyu made its Hong Kong debut on the 17th floor of 726 Nathan Road, Mong Kok, before expanding to the 22nd floor of Bartlock Centre in Causeway Bay. Known for its authentic Korean flavours, the restaurant specialised in deep-fried beef and curry udon, with the latter featuring a creamy topping that quickly gained popularity among diners. The dishes were often featured in food magazines and television shows, highlighting their appeal.

As the restaurant prepares to close its doors, management expressed gratitude to customers for their support over the years, reflecting on the journey that has now come to a close.
