23rd December 2024 – (Hong Kong) A late-night altercation in Lan Kwai Fong between a man and a woman escalated into a public brawl, reportedly fuelled by alcohol and a rejected invitation. The confrontation, captured on video and widely shared online, led to the arrest of a 31-year-old man on charges of fighting in a public place.
Footage from the scene shows a woman dressed in a low-cut top engaging in a physical altercation with a man in a grey sweatshirt. The scuffle began after the woman invited the man to accompany her to another bar, a proposal he declined. This rejection reportedly incited her anger, prompting her to strike him first, which initiated a heated exchange of blows.
Witnesses indicate that the pair had been socialising at a nearby bar prior to the fight. After the initial confrontation inside the venue, the altercation spilt onto the street, where it was filmed by onlookers. The man was later identified and apprehended by police on 20th December, following an investigation triggered by the viral video.
As the fight unfolded, the woman appeared to land several punches before the man retaliated, leading to a chaotic scene that drew the attention of passers-by. Despite attempts by bystanders to intervene, the two continued their physical struggle, with the man ultimately gaining the upper hand.
Authorities are currently searching for the woman involved in the altercation, as investigations into the incident continue. The police have urged anyone with information regarding the case to come forward.
