3rd January 2025 – (Seoul) Pudding, a pet dog whose owners tragically died in the crash of Jeju Air flight 2216 on 29th December, has been rescued after capturing the hearts of people worldwide. Following the incident, Pudding was spotted wandering alone in a village in Yeonggwang, desperately searching for its family.

Reports from South Korean media indicate that Pudding’s owner was the oldest victim of the crash, a 79-year-old man, who was travelling with eight family members, including his 68-year-old wife, 46-year-old daughter, and several grandchildren, one of whom was just six years old.

Locals observed Pudding frequently waiting by its home, watching vehicles enter the village in hopes of seeing its owners again.

On 31st December, animal rights group Care received numerous tips from the public about Pudding’s whereabouts and announced that they had successfully rescued the dog. Upon arrival, they found Pudding “sitting quietly outside the village hall, as if still waiting for its family.”

After contacting grieving family members at the funeral home, Care agreed to temporarily take custody of Pudding until a suitable guardian can be found. The dog has since been taken to a veterinary hospital for health examinations, as it had vomited harmful substances, including onions and chicken bones.
